Marks & Spencer launched a campaign with UNICEF last week, hoping to raise £1.
9m over the next three years. The retailer is asking customers not to take a hanger home when they buy clothes, and is instead donating 50p to UNICEF for every £1 saved from recycling. This will fund a new project within two regions of Bangladesh, providing children with clean water, healthcare and education. Cat Deeley, a UNICEF UK ambassador, said 'by joining with UNICEF, M&S customers will be able to make a real difference to children's lives'.
